From C3 to LEV Church: A Journey of the Heart

At LEV Church, our journey has always been about more than a building or a name—it’s been about pursuing the heart of God. Today, we’re excited to share the story behind our transition from C3 (Center City Church) to LEV Church, and how this change reflects the deeper work God has been doing in us and through us.

Where the Journey Began

In May 2023, a pivotal moment occurred when Pastor Pat, then our Lead Pastor and now our Legacy Pastor, underwent triple heart bypass surgery. During that season of prayer, reflection, and study, God began stirring something new within us—a deeper understanding of the word heart as the Bible defines it.

As we studied Scripture, we discovered that in Hebrew, the word for heart is "lev."
But it’s not just an organ—it’s the seat of a person’s emotions, will, mind, and desires. In Matthew 22:37, Jesus reminds us:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

And again in Jeremiah 24:7, God speaks through the prophet:

“I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord.”

This wasn’t just about emotions or logic—it was about the fullness of who we are. And it’s from this understanding that LEV Church was born.

Why the Name Change?

Throughout the Bible, we see that names matter—they speak to identity, purpose, and destiny.

LEV Church represents:

  • Identity: We are a people grounded first in God’s heart, pursuing His passions and His Kingdom above all else.

  • Purpose: We exist to be the heartbeat of our community—deeply connected to the families, businesses, and lives in Marshfield, WI.

  • Direction: This isn’t just a cosmetic change. It’s a prophetic declaration of where God is leading us—to live with open hearts, bold faith, and a deeper commitment to love, lead, and launch others into restoration.

While our name has changed from C3 (Center City Church) to LEV Church, our mission remains the same:

Love. Lead. Launch.

We are here to help people encounter God's love, grow in Kingdom identity, and live lives full of purpose and restoration.

What Comes Next?

This name change isn’t an ending—it’s a beginning. It’s a declaration that we are committed to being the heartbeat of our community, carrying God’s love beyond Sunday mornings into the everyday lives around us.

We’re not just building a church. We’re building a Kingdom family—anchored in God’s heart and living on purpose.

And you’re invited to be part of it.

Welcome to LEV. Welcome to the heartbeat.
